There is some great metafictional stuff going on, particularly at the beginning of the 2nd book. I then watched Lost in La Mancha, and mourned the premature passing of a Johnny Depp movie. I read Quixote over winter break, the newish translation by Grossman (which has him as The Knight of the Sorrowful Face) and I wholeheartedly support you in your endeavor.
